Week 42: The Touch of 3 Green Dudes

Monday, July 21, 2025    10:29pm

Yo, what's up?

This week was almost super amazing and then it wasn't, but that's okay. Asi es la vida de un misionero.

This week, we've been teaching this guy named Carlos. He says a lot of... strange things. He has some different beliefs about certain topics and is a little stubborn, but he really wants to be baptized, so that's good.

We started teaching a family whose oldest son has served a mission, but his mom and two younger brothers have not been baptized. They are super cool and love learning, but they haven't shown up to church and have some lame excuses. We're gonna have to talk to em.

On Thursday, we had a mission wide training or basically devotional. Grace Freeman, the daughter of the Young Women's General President came and talked to us about her mission experiences.

She shared a lot about the sons of Mosiah, and the things they went through. We know the stories of Ammon or Aaron, and all the success they had as missionaries and how they baptized and converted many. But I usually forget to think about how much they went through before they actually saw any success.

Aaron, in specific, went first to one town, and was rejected by everyone. In the next town, he saw a little success, but few believed in his words. Then, he was cast into prison. Ouch. He suffered many afflictions, but in the end, Ammon and King Lamoni delivered him out of prison.

Afterwards, he was blessed by the Lord, and brought many to a knowledge of the truth.

This was helpful for me because we've seen a lot of difficulty in this area lately, whether it be only 1 of 15 people coming to church, or 9 different houses this week yelling at us to never come back. But as with every missionary today and anciently, God allows us to be tested before we see the fruits and blessings of our labor.

God loves us so much and has a plan that is more amazing than we can comprehend! Everyone passes through difficulty, but God is always preparing blessings for those who are faithful unto Him until the end!
