Yo, how's it going? Getting a new companion has really helped me and this area start to pick up a little bit, haha.
Elder Stentzel is from Texas, and we get along pretty well. He came into the mission just 6 weeks after I did, so although I get the title of senor companion, we are on a similar level.
It's a little different and can be difficult because he is not a Latino like the majority of my past companions, but nonetheless we both bring different things to the work, as he was training a brand new missionary last transfer and I was with a missionary about to go home. A lot of different experience. He's a lot better at leading and planning than I am, so I can learn a lot from him. I hope I can help him equally.
This week, we've been having a lot more success in finding, as well as people giving us water, ice cream, and even cash, but a lot of our contacts don't respond to our calls or texts, unfortunately.
We were able to give a church tour to one person we met, and she was going to come to church with a member on Sunday, but at the last minute the cousins she lives with invited her and brought her to a church of a different faith. But someone we hadn't met before showed up to church...🤔 Still trying to get in contact with them...
My companion has only had one other area and was there for about 6 months. They had a car that whole time, so I had the pleasure of welcoming him to his first bike area.
Yesterday, he crashed his bike and broke his wrist. Yeah, uh, we spent a few hours at the ✨️Orthopedic Specialty Walk-In Clinic✨️ to get it checked out. We might have another appointment this week to see if it might need surgery. 😃👍
Quite an adventurous few days, you might have guessed, but I know that we can be blessed for our persevering faith amidst trials! (See Ether 12:6,12) I can't wait to continue to see miracles in this area!
Adios! I love you all tons!
Not even a broken bone can stop the work of the Lord.
