Week 47: It Aint Much Better in Here, Kid

Monday, August 25, 2025   10:14pm

Alrighty, this week was pretty calm, or I at least I felt that way. Or I'm just getting tired, haha.

We saw some ✨️miracles✨️:

That guy, Enrique, who went to Chicago couldn't find work there and had to come back to Utah. He had met the missionaries there, too, and had his friend Jose with him. We were able to have lesson with them a couple days after they came back, and they're both still super interested. Jose took a lot of notes during our lesson. I like this guy.

Ana came to church again this week with her daughter and grandkids! Her husband Jose, however, did not. It's a difficult situation, because the only one we've been able to meet with recently is Jose, and although we ended up having an amazing lesson with a member participating, he's pretty hesitant. Even so, we're thrilled Ana keeps coming to church and what that might entitle.

Today, my activities consisted of a hike, hanging out at the church, being elected to take an elder to his doctor appointment, and bowling. After p-day, we had the opportunity to give blessings to the friends of the sisters, who were sick. I felt very strongly the presence of the spirit.

Zone Conference was this past Wednesday, and it was awesome. We had a special visit from Elder Dushku from the quorum of the 70. I think the thing that helped me the most was what he said about faith, goals, and planning.

(This is a missionary specific example, but it works personally as well.)
If Jesus Christ came down and told us how many people we could find or how many people would be baptized, we would strongly believe in what He says, right?
When we prayerfully set goals with the help of the Spirit, it is essentially the Lord telling us what goals He wants us to set. We need to have faith that He will help us to accomplish them according to our diligence and obedience. Even when it doesn't work out the way we thought it would, we can always learn from it and try to see how we can do better the next time.

God is in the details of our lives, trust and rely on Him! The best is yet to come!

As always, I love you!! Bye!

Week 46: Betrayed by the Humans We Had Once Sworn to Protect

Monday, August 18, 2025   10:31pm

Oh, man, I feel like I hardly know where I'm at these days. ðŸ˜ĩ‍ðŸ’ŦðŸ˜ĩ

We had some strange and unfortunate things happen this week:

First, one guy we had found who wanted to be baptized randomly left for a job he heard about in Chicago. We figured out when we passed by his house and found his drunk buddy on a video call with him. That's just how it goes sometimes.

Secondly, the grandparents of that family we found, Ana and Jose, were going to be baptized this past Sunday, but we came by to see how things were going Saturday night and they said they weren't going to be baptized anymore. 😀ðŸĪŠ

But Ana still came to church with her daughter and some of the grandkids, so we're kinda thinking it's mostly Jose that's getting cold feet. We'll see if we can keep teaching them.

Other than that, we're still doing good, the work is proceeding, and I see every day ways how the Lord is helping us and helping His lost sheep.

I as well feel evermore confident and comfortable in my Spanish speaking and teaching ability, which maybe isn't a good thing; nothing good every comes from being complacent...

Anyways, I read a really awesome talk by Dallen H. Oaks from October 2021 called  The Need for a Church.

I love the way he explains how necessary it is to attend church, I would like to invite anyone who maybe doesn't quite understand why they go to church, or would just like to understand better the purpose of a church to read this talk and sincerely seek what more you can do to make Sabbath worship more personally meaningful to you. I promise it will give you a renewed desire to follow Jesus Christ!

If you don't wanna read all that, we also provide a comic version:

Love you all, I'd love to hear from some of you soon! Byeee!

WE'RE BACK, BABY(exchanges)

Week 45: Like a Cowboy

Monday, August 11, 2025   10:25pm

Hey, how's it going? I've gotta write quick 'cause it's late. 🙉

This week we saw a big, awesome, cool miracle of our friends Jose and Ana coming to church and bringing 6 other family members! Some of them are really little and can't be baptized(yet), but the whole family wants to keep coming to church. They're super awesome and I love getting to teach them!

One of our other friends is heading back to Mexico, though, a little unfortunate.

We made a dude cry this week, though. Didn't come to church, but we know he wants to get closer to God.

Our zone has the prize of the pink sombreros for the companionship who sends the most pics, videos, miracles, or whatever it may be into the zone chat, and this last week we won the sombreros!

We look super good in pink, so you should check out my photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/dEhoAJNmHVi7gFQa9

That is all. Keep reading the Book of Mormon! Love you guys!

I painted a portrait of my companion 🙈
