Week 47: It Aint Much Better in Here, Kid

Monday, August 25, 2025   10:14pm

Alrighty, this week was pretty calm, or I at least I felt that way. Or I'm just getting tired, haha.

We saw some ✨️miracles✨️:

That guy, Enrique, who went to Chicago couldn't find work there and had to come back to Utah. He had met the missionaries there, too, and had his friend Jose with him. We were able to have lesson with them a couple days after they came back, and they're both still super interested. Jose took a lot of notes during our lesson. I like this guy.

Ana came to church again this week with her daughter and grandkids! Her husband Jose, however, did not. It's a difficult situation, because the only one we've been able to meet with recently is Jose, and although we ended up having an amazing lesson with a member participating, he's pretty hesitant. Even so, we're thrilled Ana keeps coming to church and what that might entitle.

Today, my activities consisted of a hike, hanging out at the church, being elected to take an elder to his doctor appointment, and bowling. After p-day, we had the opportunity to give blessings to the friends of the sisters, who were sick. I felt very strongly the presence of the spirit.

Zone Conference was this past Wednesday, and it was awesome. We had a special visit from Elder Dushku from the quorum of the 70. I think the thing that helped me the most was what he said about faith, goals, and planning.

(This is a missionary specific example, but it works personally as well.)
If Jesus Christ came down and told us how many people we could find or how many people would be baptized, we would strongly believe in what He says, right?
When we prayerfully set goals with the help of the Spirit, it is essentially the Lord telling us what goals He wants us to set. We need to have faith that He will help us to accomplish them according to our diligence and obedience. Even when it doesn't work out the way we thought it would, we can always learn from it and try to see how we can do better the next time.

God is in the details of our lives, trust and rely on Him! The best is yet to come!

As always, I love you!! Bye!
