Week 50: The Hour of Greatest Need

Monday, September 15, 2025   10:41p

I'm getting transferred! Now I'll be in the Heritage Park Ward, which happens to have the Taylorsville temple in its boundaries. My new companion will be Elder Davison. I've met him a few times, but I don't remember much about him, haha. He has probably around 7 months in the field, I imagine.

I've been pretty lucky the last few transfers, but they finally caught me and now I'm gonna be a district leader. It's a super small district, but still worth noting, I guess.

This week actually was the first time in a long time that we've had people at church! And it was a bunch!

Last week, we were teaching Gabriela, the sister of a recent convert. She came to church with her brother! She has met with various missionaries in the past, but never made it to church before. She's interested in baptism!

We also met a family of 3 and gave them a tour of the church building! They came to church on Sunday and loved it! They look forward to learning more about the church!

In the evening on Sunday, while we were knocking basement doors, we felt prompted to knock a specific basement. We did, and an English member answered. We asked if he had any Spanish speaking neighbors and if there was anything we could do for him. He thought for a second, then invited us in.

We don't usually like to spend a lot of time in member's homes, so we were reluctant, but we entered. Then he introduced us to an inactive Spanish speaking member and her 9-year-old daughter! 😵 Her daughter really wants to be baptized!

It kinda stinks that we had a bunch of miracles just before I leave, but it is what it is.

I read an amazing scripture in 4th Nephi that I wanted to share this week:

4 Nephi 1
15 And it came to pass that there was no contention in the land, because of the love of God which did dwell in the hearts of the people.

16 And there were no envyings, nor strifes, nor tumults, nor whoredoms, nor lyings, nor murders, nor any manner of lasciviousness; and surely there could not be a happier people among all the people who had been created by the hand of God.

This made me realize how important it is that we don't only love God, but love Him with all our heart, might, mind, and strength! Because of this love, those people in the Book of Mormon were able to reach a state of Zion! And that's the key; to love God more fully. After that, everything comes much more easily and naturally!

Seeya! Love ya!

Week 49: Aquainted with Grief

Monday, September 8, 2025   10:43pm
Hello, guys, I really like procrastinating. Here we are again in that part of West Valley that everyone thinks is Magna but is actually West Valley.

This week, we were trying to help Angela get baptized again, but we couldn't contact her towards the weekend and we haven't seen her since. But her mom keeps giving silly excuses for why Angela can't talk to us. We're just gonna let them stew for a bit before we go back.

Oh no! We ran out of friends! We're trying to focus more on the importance of putting God first above all other things because that's the main problem we're having. All these Latinos just think they need to work during all their waking hours.

One other thing that happened is some dude made me mow his lawn in the rain. He was not a very nice guy and said some kind of mean things to my companion while they watched me work, but I was kind of itching to mow a lawn so it was satisfying.

That's all I really feel like mentioning, but here is a scripture I like!

“In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
-John 16:33

Jesus wants us to overcome the world, too, but we need His help! It's when we put in the work to remain pure and to continue reaching our goals of being better that we can feel true joy and rest that comes from no other source but Christ Himself!

See what you've missed:

Thanks to everyone who messaged me within the last couple days, you're all appreciated! Love you!!
