I've been pretty lucky the last few transfers, but they finally caught me and now I'm gonna be a district leader. It's a super small district, but still worth noting, I guess.
This week actually was the first time in a long time that we've had people at church! And it was a bunch!
Last week, we were teaching Gabriela, the sister of a recent convert. She came to church with her brother! She has met with various missionaries in the past, but never made it to church before. She's interested in baptism!
We also met a family of 3 and gave them a tour of the church building! They came to church on Sunday and loved it! They look forward to learning more about the church!
In the evening on Sunday, while we were knocking basement doors, we felt prompted to knock a specific basement. We did, and an English member answered. We asked if he had any Spanish speaking neighbors and if there was anything we could do for him. He thought for a second, then invited us in.
We don't usually like to spend a lot of time in member's homes, so we were reluctant, but we entered. Then he introduced us to an inactive Spanish speaking member and her 9-year-old daughter! 😵 Her daughter really wants to be baptized!
It kinda stinks that we had a bunch of miracles just before I leave, but it is what it is.
I read an amazing scripture in 4th Nephi that I wanted to share this week:
4 Nephi 1
15 And it came to pass that there was no contention in the land, because of the love of God which did dwell in the hearts of the people.
16 And there were no envyings, nor strifes, nor tumults, nor whoredoms, nor lyings, nor murders, nor any manner of lasciviousness; and surely there could not be a happier people among all the people who had been created by the hand of God.
This made me realize how important it is that we don't only love God, but love Him with all our heart, might, mind, and strength! Because of this love, those people in the Book of Mormon were able to reach a state of Zion! And that's the key; to love God more fully. After that, everything comes much more easily and naturally!
Seeya! Love ya!
