Week 68: Salsa

Monday, January 26, 2026   10:31am

Hey, how's it going? Espero que todos se encuentren muuy bien.

I was getting to know my area this week, and it's a very good area with a lot of potential! We also have a large variety of restaurants. Good thing we are still on bikes.

We were teaching one lady and trying to include her family in our lessons. Things were going well; we were bold and asked lots of questions to try to see if she had a doubt or anything, but she told us she believed everything we were saying.

The next day, we were planning on giving her a baptism date, but then she texted us to tell us she wanted to attend her old church. 🀨🫠

There was one other person my companion and another elder found on exchanges, and we were excited because she seemed really interested and promised to come to church. When she showed up to church on Sunday, she told us she was already a member. 😐

So, it's been a bit rough for finding, but we have some goals that can help us do better the coming week.

I was studying President Nelson's talk from last April titled "Confidence in the Presence of God." I love how he emphasizes the importance of being ready to meet God at any moment, and that we can be ready by increasing our charity and virtue.

Synonyms of Virtuous can be Pure, or Good. Being pure and good in our thoughts, and desires will help us to remain pure and good in our actions. It can also help us to become more charitable!

Charity and virtue are not easily achieved, as they are attributes of godliness and directly contrary to the natural man. But through difficulty, we are refined. Through suffering, we become more like the one who suffered everything for us.

So, let's try extra hard to be kind. To be loving. To be good. To be pure.

Week 67: Blackout πŸ¦–☄️

Monday, January 19, 2026   10:21am

Hey, guys! Sorry, I must have stepped into limbo for a month.

This transfer was kind of rough. We didn't see a lot of success even though we worked super hard. We did have one friend at church yesterday, the last week of the transfer. Although he seems like he might progress a lot slower than we usually work, I have faith that the area will see miracles.

It's been fun, though. It's so much better sharing the ward with elders than sisters, haha. Especially when those elders have a car.

I think the transfer was good to help me see what I can do better. My companion forced me to have patience in a way I hadn't needed before. And judging from the transfer news, all the things I learned will be directly applicable in the next transfer.

This last week, one of our Zone Leaders was called to be one of our president's assistants, so our other Zone Leader stayed with us and we became a trio.

Something we've been doing more is setting a goal of people to talk to or contact during the day. It helps a lot in being urgent and talking to everyone. In one day, we we're able to talk to and invite 230 people to come to church!

Now, I'm being moved to West Valley near Magna to the Rancho Vista ward. My companion will be Elder Carpenter from Georgia. He has goes home in July.

I'm running out of time, so I'll end it here. Sorry I haven't sent any emails in the last month.

Love yas! πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–
