Heyeyyeyyy,
This week felt pretty slow and uneventful until General Conference, but there were a few cool things that happened in the work;
Near the start of the week, we were trying to do public contacting in front of a grocery store/strip mall, but we weren't seeing success so we decided to go somewhere else.
After a while, we came back, but we still weren't finding anyone, so we left again. Finally, as the day was far spent, we came back and for some reason, we headed for the entrance of the grocery store. Before we walked in, one of the young employees said, "Haven't you been here all day?"
We weren't sure how to respond, so she continued, "I've been praying, asking God that if He still loves me to send the missionaries around me." That made us feel very cool and less like we had just wasted a whole day. She has gone to church with her mom, speaks Spanish, and has not been baptized! Working with her is difficult, so we'll see what happens.
The elders in our district had been teaching and almost baptized a woman and her 2 kids a month ago, but when she left out of state for work, they had to set them aside. This weekend, she came back, and though she's in a worse situation than before, was baptized on Sunday! She's so much happier than before and at peace amidst her problems! She also has started to receive help from unexpected sources! Baptism really brings miracles, everybody.
General Conference is super cool! I wish it lasted longer than only 2 days. But now that it is over, what have we learned? How will what we learned help us to grow and to change?
Reading over the notes I took, I was able to see how I wanted to improve, and set goals and make plans to help me to get there!
I know that when the spirit speaks to us and helps us to receive revelation on how we can be better, that the Lord really wants and expects us to act! He will help us and we will feel it! We can become so much closer and more like the Savior when we include Him in our lives in this way!
I invite you to study your notes, or watch General Conference again and take notes, and set goals by the Spirit that will help you to grow your testimony of the Savior and become more like Him! I have found so much joy in Jesus Christ and I know you will, too!
Gotta finish the day with chocolate milk, lol
