Week 51 & 52: Steal From the Poor, Give to the Rich

Monday, September 29, 2025   10:09pm

Heyyo, how's it going??? I find myself being exhausted in many ways recently, but other than that, uh, I guess we're doing good?

I guess I haven't sent an email since transfers 💀 so I've got a few things to talk about.

I'm district leader, which I think I mentioned before. I'm basically just responsible for a few other missionaries, to help them to be effective, happy, and then I report numbers. I was really enjoying it until I was in charge of meetings and other stuff. I'm not a big fan of that.

My new companion is Elder Davison. He's a super cool guy, I love being with him. He's often mistaken for being Latino, due to him being half American and half Indian. A lot of people also says he looks like Michael Jackson or Bruno Mars. It's pretty funny. He has been serving for about 9 months.

Our area is half of a ward, but it's still huge. Normally, this area would have a car. But, uh, as soon as I got here they gave it to the other elders in our district. (They are in one of my last areas where I was on bike. They crashed the car this week and now our district has no car. 🫠)

Our area has had no baptisms for over 3 months, and I'm beginning to see why. It's pretty difficult to contact people here. But we keep finding people with potential to progress, so we'll have someone soon!

The ward give us food every day, and since we can't eat at member's houses except on weekends, we usually go to their house to pick it up and bring it home. Usually they give us more than we can eat and our fridge fills up fast! Only problem is that now we don't have a car, and neither do the sister missionaries that we share the ward with, so we sometimes end up having to bike to go get it. 😂

My older brother Matt was here in Utah so I got to see him(with permission from President Watson, haha). Last time I saw him I was 16 years old. It was awesome, but also felt very weird. Then I just continued my day as usual. 🤷‍♂️ Nothing more to say about that really, haha.

Not sure how to bring it up more naturally, but as I'm sure most of you are aware; President Nelson passed away this week! He was such an amazing person and I know without a doubt that he was a prophet, called by God specifically to guide us through the difficult times we have recently lived through!

I love how heavy his focus was on making the gospel more personal for each of us. From the changes of 3 to 2 hour church, Come, Follow Me, The Youth Program, 200 temples announced, and many conference addresses, we can begin to understand just how important it is that we really are all in when it comes to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

I know that God has a plan for us! I know that miracles have not ceased! We do not believe in a silent or absent God, rather, that He is the living head of the church and He directs it today through revelation and through His prophets! I know this is true, for the spirit has made it clear to me. These things I testify of as a representative and in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

P.S. 365 days from today is when I am scheduled to come back home 😬

Love yas, chau for now!
