Hey, it was another good, not so good, and crazy week.
Good news is a 70 year old man wanted to massage my ankle and now it feels a lot better. Bad news is my bike decided it doesn't much like me anymore and wants to hurt me.
One of our friends we have been teaching for about a week and a half is awesome! We taught him a lesson a little more focused on repentance and how to repent. We knelt down with him so he could say a prayer to ask God for forgiveness, and he also asked God to allow him to be baptized.🔥🔥🔥
After that, he said he felt really peaceful. He hasn't been to church yet because he just got a job after 3 months and he works on Sunday, but he's trying to change his schedule. He has super strong desires to follow Christ!
The family we found last week had been taught before by some sisters and they were fairly curious. We had one visit with them, and we set up a second one in the church to give them a tour of the building.
We had to reschedule it once, but we definitely confirmed when they would be available. The day and the hour arrived and the never showed up. We don't know what happened because they haven't responded to our calls or texts.
On Friday, we were doing some finding, just knocking some apartment doors and the such when a lady who was born in Mexico but speaks mostly English told us she had some questions and invited us in.
She asked about Joseph Smith and The Mormon Bible. We got to tell her we in fact do not worship or pray to Joseph Smith. We tried to teach her the restoration of the gospel, but she felt the need to tell us her life story about how wicked she was in her youth and how she found Jesus.
She seemed to like the idea of God's spirit accompanying her throughout her day, but we had already been there an hour and a half, it was late, and I wasn't sure if she'd let me speak long enough to explain the Gift of the Holy Ghost. So we invited her to church, and, in return, she invited us to hers. Well, we're kind of not allowed to go to other churches in our mission, and it was a little far for us to bike... we didn't make it to her chruch, and she didn't come to ours either.
However, the wife of our recent convert asked for time off from work to go to church, and she came!! Their whole family was able to be there together.
I wrote this last week, but I guess I didn't send it. Oh well.
