Ah, man, P-day is more exhausting then any other day of the week. I had a pretty good day regardless.
This week, we were able to have a devotional with Elder David L. Buckner of the 70. One of my favorite things he said was that repentance was not God's backup plan. God is omnipotent. He sees all, He knows all. Repentance is the only way back to Him, and it is only by Jesus Christ that we are saved. He said a ton of stuff about missionary work as well. Very good talk.
It's been getting a lot colder recently. On Tuesday, it freakin snowed. In October! I thought that was cool. The snowflakes got super big, but it didn't stick, and it only snowed for about 15 minutes. I'll bet I won't be quite so excited about snow in a couple of months. Utah. 🙄
My favorite food here has surprised me. The curry they make is better than like anything else I've eaten here. If you had offered me curry before the mission, I probably would have refused it. But holy cow. They had curry at lunch today, and our district ate 22 bowls of it. Yeah. It's something special.
Went to the temple today and did proxy sealings (to parents) for the first time! It was an awesome experience. We also were able to go into the Celestial room in the Mount Timpanogos temple is massive, and super pretty. Me gusta mucho.
I studied a lot about Christlike attributes, and one in particular that I wanted to work on was humility. Ether 12:27 is a great scripture about humility. It says that if we are humble, God will make weak things strong unto us. Which is great, because I would consider teaching and talking to strangers to be one of my weaknesses. I can't wait to do that for 18 hours a day for two years.
I know that if I work hard to be like Christ, that God will aid me in my efforts. I know that it is only through my Savior that I can be all that God needs me to be. 'Cause I'm sure not gonna be able to do that on my own.
Love you guys!
Hasta la próxima, Élder Montgomery.
