Hallo, iedereen
The weeks are going by fast! I've already been a missionary for a month! It's weird to think I'll be in the field in less than two weeks.
One of my top 12 favorite living Apostles visited us this Tuesday; Elder Gary E. Stevenson! The spirit he brought to the room as he spoke was increadible and I could really feel the love he had for the missionaries.
Because we are at the MTC, every talk is gonna be about missionary work, but it is always nice to hear that God has called me to my specific mission as part of His plan. If it were better that I go somewhere else, wouldn't you think God would send me there? God is extremely mindful of the needs of His children and how to succor them accordingly. He makes no mistakes.
My roommates and some other elders from their district have started getting up early to go for a run and head to the gym, so my companion Elder Critchfield and I have been joining them. I'm glad to have some buddies to work out with, because it helps me to be motivated to work out as much as they do. Without them, I'd have a bit of trouble, because I don't always enjoy inflicting pain on myself.
Helped out the new wave of missionaries move in, which is always fun. I got to help an elder who used to go to school with my companion, so that was cool.
On Wednesday, I ran into my buddy Elder Kyle Barnes! We used to be in the same ward, but I had no clue he was serving a mission! He's going to Spanish Fork Utah (English speaking🤔), which is pretty crazy considering we're pretty much gonna be neighbors.
I may have mentioned that they have some pretty good curry here... but they didn't serve any at all this week!
Sometimes I worry,
'Cause my vision goes blurry
When I can't stop thinkin' 'bout MTC curry.
I can't remember much else about what happened this week, mostly cause it still feels like it should be Monday, but I'd like to share a scripture I've rediscovered recently;
3 Nephi 22:10 says, "For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee." I love this scripture, because it reminds me of how permanent God's love for us is. When things change, and we feel like the life we knew is gone, we can always count on the love of God to be forever unchanging.
Love you guys, (btw, if you read the whole thing you get bonus points.)
Élder Montgomery
P.s, If you're wondering why that scripture in particular was comforting to me, it's because Duolingo hates me.
Also, there's a picture from the last time we had curry a week ago. We were hungry.
