Weeks 74 & 75: Muito Bem, Obrigado!

Monday, March 16, 2026   9:15pm

Hey, hello

My new companion is cool, we get along fine 😎

Our district leader covers the Portuguese ward, which basically is bigger than our whole mission. I was able to go to a member meal in Portuguese on an exchange, and it was great! The food was delicious and I understood a lot of the conversation.

We're still having a lot of trouble finding new people in our area. We don't have anyone we are currently teaching, but we did meet a guy that initially came to us asking us for money, but he didn't realize that we have so much more to offer, muwahahaha. We're trying to start teaching him.

Last week, my district went to a beach of that one big salty lake everyone talks about and we flew kites there. Well, some of us flew kites. The wind wasn't great, so those of us with heavier kites jad trouble getting them very high off the ground.

My kite flew decently well, but if I stopped walking towards the wind, it would crash land. Unfortunately, only the wind in my actual area always seems to be very strong, especially when I am required to bike against it up a hill. 🥴

Today, we had a field day for the entire mission. There was soccer, volleyball, kickball, spikenet, and even tacos and ice cream. I enjoyed it. I hadn't played soccer in a while.

I watched a video this week that I currently don't have access to, so I can't share a quote or anything from it, but it had a message that I really liked.

A lot of us think that the spirit doesn't speak to us often, but in reality, once we have the gift of the Holy Ghost, it rarely leaves us and is constantly trying to help and guide us. We aren't always very good at recognizing those promptings, because the Holy Ghost will speak to our spirit, and we are used to using our physical body to communicate.

Usually, the spirit will cause a good thought to pop into our head. We need to act on these good thoughts as soon as we can, whether they are from the spirit or not, because the more we act on a prompting, the easier it gets.

But Satan works in a similar way, because he too is a spirit. After a prompting, we sometimes get doubts or worries about following it. Satan can use logic to make us think that we shouldn't follow that initial good thought, and it will seem like our own reasoning.

So something I am working on, and what I'd like to invite you to do as well, is to work on listening to the first good impression and doing it right away, regardless of doubts that try to persuade otherwise. I know that we will be able to see that God is active and present in our lives and hears prayers!

Love yas! 💖💖💖
