Hey, I'm back! I'm alive!
This past week, we actually have found more people and been kind of busy with lessons, haha.
Most of this transfer, we hadn't had much success, but Sunday the 23rd, we had 5 new people come to church!(before 2 of them confessed that they were members😭)
We were super excited.
1 of the real new people is pretty hard to get a hold of, but the other two we were able to start teaching!
The first was a 15 year old girl whose family was inactive members. Her family is super nice and friendly, and they're starting to come to church again because of her.
Exciting!
She was baptized this past Sunday the 30th. Our ward was super happy to see the family start to come back and are already starting to have people over to visit and minister to them! 🙌
Our other new friend was interested in the English classes that normally happen after church, so after 2nd hour we went with he to the class... but it was canceled. We ended up trying to teach a bit of English ourselves. That was hard because my companion doesn't speak very much English either. Regardless, we were also able to share a message about the gospel with her after, and she was interested in learning more!
Our first visit with her was during an exchange, so I was actually in another area. But something went wrong somehow in that lesson, and it seemed like she didn't want us to come back. A couple days later, she invited us back out of the blue, and now she's on date for baptism for the 7th of December! 😵
We always seem to see more miracles as the transfer begins to end. 🙃
👞 Something funny that keeps happening; my shoes look like I got them from the dumpster at Goodwill, as in Goodwill would have thrown them away 'cause they're too beat up. But they work fine and are comfortable, so I keep using them. Apparently, the condition of my shoes is very noticeable even from a distance, so people keep giving me their shoes. 😭😭😭 I think it's time that I retire them.
A scripture I used in our most recent lesson: 2 Nephi 28:30
For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have.
What I learn this verse is that I can't be complacent, or think I can stop studying, stop practicing, or stop doing the small things. I know that God will bless me for my loyalty and diligence when I persevere even when it is hard.
My poor shoes 💀
That's probably the photo you were more anxious to see, but if you wanna see more, I've got a handy link for that: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ dEhoAJNmHVi7gFQa9
