Week 61: Which is the Miracle?

Monday, December 8, 2025   10:16pm

Hey, we got transfer news the other day.

It would turn out I am staying in Heritage Park for a 3rd, but my companion Elder Gil is leaving. This is not what I expected. But it is good.

My new companion will be Elder Casteñeda from Mexico. He has about 7 to 8 months in the mission. I've been in his zone before, but I haven't seen how he works. I think God is going to teach me this transfer. 😬

Our friend that we had on date wanted to wait a while longer, so we're giving her a bit of time and space to think. Our last lesson was heavily spiked with the Spirit and we could tell she felt it, so she is being prepared.

This week, we've been trying to do some finding, visiting members, finding through visiting members, and all of the other neat stuff that comes with having no friends.

A quote Elder Gil shared in his testimony with a family stuck with me this week.

It's from a talk by Elder Holland I think from April 2012. He shared, "...Surely the thing God enjoys most about being God is the thrill of being merciful, especially to those who don’t expect it and often feel they don’t deserve it."

I think God is a lot merciful than we often think He is. He really does understand us perfectly and knows when we're trying our best, or even when it's hard to try our best.

I, uh, hope you like this photo.
