Eyeyyyyeyey,
We're having a lot of fun and up to plenty of shenanigans once again in Salt Lake City West!
These last weeks have been chaotic as we've tried to balance finding and teaching, and helping the missionaries in our district, especially the sisters that we're reassigned here from Temple Square(they need a lot of help with their bikes).
Our district, however, is going to be torn apart. Our beloved and dear friend Elder Cockrell has received a reassignment to the Colombus Ohio mission. His original call was to Chile, but for health reasons, he came back home to Utah and once he was better, was able to transfer to proslighting with us. So for the last few months he has been serving with us only about 15 minutes away from his home and family. He leaves this Wednesday the 17th. We are grieving this loss.
His companion Elder Hill will be with the other elders in their current ward who happen to be outside of our zone. Elder Hill like my comp Elder Sandoval also completes his 2 years and goes home at the end of this transfer. So most of our district is leaving. 😭 Poop.
We've been teaching a few different people off and on, but for one reason or another, we end up having to set most of them aside. Teaching would be a lot easier if Latinos would actually answer calls and texts, haha. 🤪
Last Sunday, we had a meeting with Elder Becrra of the Seventy and all the ward leaders from the Spanish wards of West Valley. It was pretty cool. I think it was a good step to unite the wards with the missionaries. Hopefully we both get better with this.
Anyways, here is a quote from Elder Rasband about the Book of Mormon that I found in Preach My Gospel:
"There was much more to my reading than just marking scriptures. With each reading of the Book of Mormon, front to back, I was filled with a profound love for the Lord. I felt a deeply rooted witness of the truth of His teachings and how they apply to ‘this day.’ This book fits its title, ‘Another Testament of Jesus Christ.’ With that study and the spiritual witness that was received, I became a Book of Mormon missionary and a disciple of Jesus Christ."
I can testify that the Book of Mormon has the power to fill us with love for the Savior and a deeper understanding of His Atonement when we put ourselves to read even just a little! It has such a powerful effect when you make it a part of your daily life.
I'm tryna get more interesting contenido aqui, pero pues, por ahora esto es lo que tengo. Que disfruten estas fotos de nuestras caras:
