Weeks 76 & 77 & 78: Where the Nuts Come From

Monday, April 6, 2026   12:27pm

Hello 👋

I seem to have not sent an email for 3 weeks... Oops. Silly me. 🐸

      Lately, I've gone on lots of exchanges with the Portuguese elders. Which is pretty sweet, cause they actually are fed every single day by the ward. The members are awesome and they spoil us with their cooking. I'm also learning quite a bit of Portuguese. 😌

Our mission reached the goal of 200 baptisms for "Miracle March!" Unfortunately, my area decided not to participate... 😪

Last Monday, to celebrate all the miracles we've seen in the mission, President Watson rented a theater and had Café Río cater for the entire mission. We watched The Chosen.

      This week, we have transfers! Elder Rodas and I are both leaving the area. My new companion will be one of my best friends in the whole mission, Elder Sandoval! 🙌🙌 This is crazy and I'm very excited.

My new ward will be San Marcos. Fun fact about San Marcos; my first area, Parkway, was combined into San Marcos about 6 months ago. So I'm basically going back to where I started my mission. Since I only have 6 months before going home (🤯) this could even be my last area. Yikes.

And now, for the first time in one hundred million years... I HAVE A CARRRR NEERRRRRRWWW 🚗💨

      General Conference was super good guys. I attended the Saturday Afternoon Session in person. It was cool. Two elders in my district met Elder Soares right after we got seperated from them. Mannnn, I was just practicing my Portuguese, too. 😔

      Even though I didn't see much success in the Rancho Vista Ward, I'm happy to have served here and to have gained valuable expirience with my companions. I'm looking forward to my last 6 months and I plan to make the most of them by working harder than I ever have. ⚡️💪💪💪⚡️

      I always love when General Conference has a greater focus on Jesus Christ, His atonement, and the resurrection. Especially when the speakers get emotional giving their witness of Him.

On Saturday, I had a 2 hour conversation with my dear Elder Perdomo that filled me with the Spirit in a way that I was missing. I was able to share a perspective of the atonement I have gained on my mission which is this;

Jesus Christ's atonement includes the sins we struggle to overcome. 😲 After I repent and feel super good, I often think something along the lines of, "Ah, now I will never sin again." But obviously, that's not very realistic and misses the point of the atonement.

Jesus Christ provides the opportunity for us to be forgiven even for the things we won't be able to make better. He's here to make them better. That's the power of His mercy and love.

That is something that has been taught to me many times, but it wasn't until I testified of it that I realized what it really meant for me.

There are so many good scriptures and quotes I could pair with this, but then we'd both be here a while. It'd probably be more effective for you to go directly to the sources. 😉

Love yas muito! 💖💖💖
