Week 22: Comenzó el Marzo de Milagros

Monday, March 3, 2025   7:05pm

Hey, we've had a good week despite teaching a very few amount of lessons.

The family we found last Monday has been progressing very well, and we were able to give them a tour of the church building. Our building also has a baptismal font, which is always a cool expirience and another opportunity to answer any other questions they have about baptism.

To remind them of their own baptisms on March 9th, we shared Mosiah 18:10 with them, which basically just asks 'what is stopping you from being baptized?' The answer we got was awesome; one of our friends said, "Only for the big day to arrive!"

Only two of them actually came to church, which means for the rest of them, we'll have to move their baptisms to the next week. But for the two that came, I'm 98% certain that they'll be baptized this coming Sunday!

I was able to have exchanges with Elder Alarcon, during which, we were able to have another taste of the fact that our area is mostly purely gringo. Finding is really starting to feel like searching for the 1 lost sheep.

We had another pretty sweet ✨️miracle✨️ last night; after a long day of knocking with only a few answers, almost all gringos, we were about to head home when we had a prompting to knock a member's door. A little weird, and surprisingly, I was already pretty full, afraid they might try to feed us, but we knocked anyways.

They let us in, give us some food of course, and then we meet their cousin who is visiting from Columbia. He tells us he is Christian, that he respects our church and what we do, but isn't interested. Then he starts asking us about our mission.

We tell him all about working all day to find and teach, taking 2 years away from everything else and that rather than being payed by the church, we pay to be here. He kept using the word 'mormons' which was kind of bugging the member, so we explained to him what the Book of Mormon was.

Later, we ask if we can share a scripture and a short message. We end up sharing Moroni 10:3-5, that promises that if we pray and ask with real intent, the spirit will teach us the truth of all things. He reads it and says, "How exciting!" First time that's happened🤷‍♂️

We give him a powerful testimony about receiving a personal testimony, and afterwards, he tells us he felt a feeling of peace and warmth. We diagnose those feelings as the spirit. We reephasise the promise from Moroni, and invite him to pray before bed.

This was such an awesome experience, and this guy is so ready to learn more and progress quickly towards baptism! The catch is that he returns to Columbia today.🫠 But, he told us that when he gets back, he will find the missionaries and feed them, haha. He also made us add him as a friend on Facebook because he wants to always remember us.

After leaving, we had such a spiritual high, it was awesome. It made the whole week so much better, and I didn't care that we hardly found anyone, nor that we won't get to baptize him. Just freakin awesome that we got to find him, and provide him with the spiritual experience he needed to soften his heart.

The Lord is aware of everyone and their needs, and I'm super grateful to be means by which people can recieve these things.

Bye everybody!
